I had to have surgery to put the ankle back together. I am now wearing a cast, and I am wheel chair bound, and house bound.

I cannot stand this!! I have always been very active, and now I am going stir crazy being cooped up inside the house all day everyday. Poor little Laurance is going crazy too. Thank goodness he had Zoo Caper Camp the week of my surgery. He was able to stay with friends, which he quite enjoyed. Our friend Adam took him to camp everyday. Laurance liked having the opportunity to converse and exchange with an older adult male. Now, he is cooped with Mom, and he has to help me more than usual. Initially he stepped up to the task of taking care of me with a lot of vigor, but I think he did not expect it to take so long. Now he is asking me when I will be able to walk again. I told him his guess was as good as mine, but I speculated sometime around September. You should have seen how big is little blue eyes got, "September!" He said, "But, that's forever." (LOL!) At least I can depend on him for a good laugh.
I am very blessed to have Laurance and the VA. The VA took care of all my medical needs setting me up with a wheelchair and crutches, as well as a home health care aide. Not to mention, they took real good care of me at the hospital allowing me stay for two days since I only had an 11-year old to help me around the house.
Oh well, that is all for now. Laurance starts back to school on Monday, and I am also trying to get him in a lottery for a public charter school. Peace out and wish us luck.
